I've heard this saying many times in my life, and especially lately. It infers that whenever something is wrong within an organization, it is always the leadership that is at fault. That analogy really breaks down when it comes to the church and even political things and that has been really bothering me for some time. I think I've come to the conclusion that it is simply not true. Of course everybody wants a scapegoat, someone to blame when things go wrong, but let's just think this over in the the spiritual and political realms: Who is the head of the church? I mean THE HEAD? not the pastor, not the deacons, not the bishops or regional or even global leaders. Any mature christian will know that Christ is in fact the head of the church. Ephesians 5:23b (as several other passages) make that clear: "... as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body." And of ...
